Subhash Ghai confirms the sequel of Aitraaz with OMG 2 director Amit Rai; says, “I’ve heard a fantastic script…”

Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Aitraaz marks its 20th anniversary of Aitraaz. On this special moment, producer Subhash Ghai has confirmed the sequel of the film. He revealed that it’s in the working stage.

The 2004 film was known for its bold narrative tackling workplace harassment and power dynamics. It was directed by Abbas-Mustan.

Now this time Subhash Ghai has confirmed the sequel of Aitraaz with OMG 2 director Amit Rai. Sharing the big news, Shubhash expressed enthusiasm about the new project and shared Priyanka’s picture announcing the project. He wrote, “Bold and Beautiful Priyanka Chopra dared and did it. That’s why cine lovers can not forget her performance even after 20 years today in #AITRAZ – produced my Mukta Arts. When she was too apprehensive to do this role of an ardent ambitious woman but did it with full confidence. Now Mukta Arts is ready for AITRAZ 2 with the finest script with 3 years of hard work. He also shared his excitement about the project and speaking to Hindustan Times, he revealed, “I’ve heard a fantastic script from Amit Rai, the writer-director of Oh My God 2, which has been written as Aitraaz 2 now. We are getting so many calls from various studios that they are interested in making the film. And I must say that Amit again has a big hit script with him at the moment. I really loved it.”

“The subject belongs to Amit Rai. He has written another bold issue about today’s sex life with new values and new schools of thought coming in. You can’t expect it to just be a social drama, it has to have some strong and high notes. We are excited to start the film,” Subhash concluded.

After Ghai announced the news on social media, several fans shared their positive response to the sequel. However, there are not many details provided on the casting and storyline of the film.
